What is MMPF?

The Metro Manila Pride March and Festival is an annual event that gathers the Metro Manila LGBTQ+ community, their family, friends, and other allies to celebrate LGBTQ+ lives and shine a spotlight on our community’s issues. Year after year the support for this event and its cause has grown. So much so that last year’s event saw a record breaking 4,500 attendees.

“HERE TOGETHER” is this year’s theme and rallying cry. Together we will show the nation once more that our differences don’t divide us. Rather, these allow us to celebrate each other and our limitless capacity for love and acceptance. Together we will tell the country that LGBTQ+ or not, we are here for each other, for equality, for love, for pride.

Join us as we explore new ground in Marikina City! This year’s Pride March and Festival is a historic one as it is the first time the event will be held in Marikina. With support from the Marikina City Government, this year’s event increases the safe spaces in Metro Manila where LGBTQ+ people and their allies can be HERE TOGETHER.

For family, for friends. For those who march with us and for those who can’t. For safe spaces, for rights, for love, and for Pride. We are #HereTogether.

About the Organizer

Metro Manila Pride (MMPride) is a volunteer-managed, non-partisan, and not-for-profit organization that aims to create safe, informative, affirming, and empowering spaces for LGBTQ+ people in Metro Manila.

The first Pride March in the country was held in 1994 in Quezon City, making this Metro Manila based March the longest running Pride March in Southeast Asia. Since the first step off in 1994, many organizations have spearheaded the event. In 2016, some of those who had been handling the event as Task Force Pride since 2014, continued organizing under the organization name Metro Manila Pride.

Aside from the Pride March and Festival, MMPride also holds events throughout the year in order to increase visibility for the community’s issues and to provide spaces that aim to strengthen the Metro Manila LGBTQ+ community.

Meet the Team

At the core of the Metro Manila Pride March and Festival is a group of dedicated volunteers who co-head the different committees that manage the event. This year, our volunteer co-heads hail from a variety of backgrounds that include media, tech, health care, development work, and many others.
