Organizing the biggest safe space for LGBTQ+ people in the country does not come without cost.
Since the 90s, organizing the Pride March in Metro Manila has always been an uphill battle. The small group of committed volunteers who work on Pride always find themselves paying for many Pride costs out of pocket or by taking out loans. All this in an effort to keep the biggest safe space in the country free to attend and accessible to all.
Last year, after we had exhausted all options, we reached out to you and launched our first ever crowdfunding campaign. We were moved to tears by your overwhelming support. With your help, we raised PhP 254, 931.22 in less than a month!
Aside from enabling us to organize the event, what you gave also allowed us to carry on with our other activities (i.e. discussion groups, covering the Anti-Discrimination Bill proceedings, etc.) for the year.
Because of your generosity, more LGBTQ+ people were able to experience safe, informed, affirming, and empowered spaces. Something that many of us don’t have access to in our daily lives. It truly was a community-driven and funded year for Metro Manila Pride.
This year, in an effort to keep our activism sustainable and community-driven, we are again reaching out to you this year to help make Pride happen by donating to the Pride Fund!
